Boston

This will be my last blog of this vacation. I am not going home yet. I am In Boston and with my relatives. I think that I will be here for a week or so. Today I went to a baseball game with my uncle, David. It was Red Sex (the Boston team) versus Yankees again. It felt funny to cheer on the Red sox this time! Some guy in The Yankees did a homerun and they won. My uncle was really mad because now they are out of the league.

After the game me and David  took a pizza. You can’t imagine the toppings that the pizza place had. Pizza with pear, Bananas and egg. Crazy!
David showed me a supermarket where you can buy all the American candy and stuff that I wanted to bring home. It was like heaven! Milk duds, Twinkies, Dr. pepper cherry etc. I bought it all!

He then showed me the city of Boston. Nothing like New York but It was still a nice tour. I got to see city hall, the university etc. We then went home to David’s place, where am going to live. They live in a nice residential suburb. They have a dog named Tommy that loves to play baseball and a yard as big as central park. Time for dinner! Maybe I will write about my next trip in this blog! Thanks for reading, cya later!

The Big Apple day 3

Another great day  and I am going to tell you all about it!

What an relaxing day. When I woke up today and looked out to see the nice weather I remembered, I hadn’t been to central park yet. Oh, I forgot to tell you guys how to hotel is. It’s and the view is great. Okay, I I'll stop bragging now.

Anyway, today I went to Central park. It’s a urban park in the middle of Manhattan. It’s really cool and you can easily spend a whole day there. I went to the Zoo in central park. I got to see lions in New  York, pretty cool right? A monkey had escaped while I was there so there was animal control people everywhere trying to find it. I hope great, the restaurant is great. There is free coffee and snacks at 7 pm. I have Jacuzzi In the room that the monkey is okay!

Later on I went on a Hop-off buss again. I is a great way to learn about New York’s history and taking some great photos. I took a different route than the first time, the blue route.

After lunch at MacDonald’s (I’m boring, I know) I went to a jazz club. I am not a super fan of jazz but I still had a good time. The jazz club was really cozy, with photos of jazz stars on the walls. A very relaxing place to spend the afternoon. When I was there some guy played and he was great, i asked for his autograph but I don’t remember his name.

Dinner at the Hotel and now it’s time for early bedtime, tomorrow I’m going to Boston to visit my relatives.  I will tell you guys about it tomorrow, bye!

The Big Apple day 2

Another great day  and I am going to tell you all about it!

First up was Shopping, or rather window shopping as I almost didn’t buy anything. If you want to go to a place just for shopping, New York is that place. They got everything here! But am not a girl so shopping didn’t take all day. I went to American Museum of Natural History, it’s the museum that the movie night at the museum with Ben Stiller take place in. There was many things to see, I was there a couple of hours and I didn’t even see half of it I think. There was dinosaur skeletons, rock collections, ancient artifacts etc. A must see really!

I then went to the place where World trade center was located before the September 11. Something new is being built. I think it´s a new World trade center.

Now it was time for lunch. I ate at a place near the hotel. It was a Italian place and I ordered some pasta. It was delicious and I actually met some Swedish people there. It’s a bit lonely here all alone in the Big Apple so it was nice to meet some fellow countrymen.

Later on I decided to go watch a movie like I did in London. This time it was Taken 2, a action movie with Liam Neeson as the protagonist. A decent film, the first one was better though.

By the way, the traffic here is horrible. If you a cab, it drives so slow that you rather just walk. The subway is the best option if you want to get somewhere fast. The subway system is as good as London’s subway, so it’s a ok way to get by.

Time for sleep, good night!

The Big Apple day 1

Hey I have now spent my first day in New York, or The Big Apple as many people call it. I can understand why people call New York The Big Apple. New York is huge! This first day I have been staring at the sky all the time! It’s really hard not to, the buildings are so high.

First thing I did was hopping on a sightseeing bus. It’s a great way to see the city and see what you want to do next. After about two about on the bus I decided I to take a trip on the boat around Manhattan. It was a very nice tour and the weather was perfect. Next up was wall street. I study economic so of course I have to stop by wall street where all the magic happens. I had eat lunch at KFC one time so why not do it the first day, nothing beats them crispy chickens.

After  a late lunch I went to see a baseball game. I was lucky, Red Sox was in town and was going to meet New York Yankees. I was able to get a ticket for double price and it was well worth it. It was amazing to stand with the supporters and cheering at the Yankees. Every time they made a score everyone went crazy and I almost did to.

I had promised myself to see the sunset from empire state building before I die. It was incredible and I  don’t think that it’s going to be the last time that I see that view this trip!

After a long day I decided to skip going out for dinner and eat at the hotel instead, i check in again
tomorrow!

London day 3

Okay, back to the last day here in London!

After the visit to the horror chamber in Madame Tussaud I just had to visit The London dungeon.

London dungeon is one of London’s must-see attractions. Its located next to London eye on the South Bank. Simon had never been to The London dungeon so we didn’t know what to expect. I was very excited and thought that i would be really scary. I was disappointed. It was not scary at all. They must have adapted The London dungeon to a younger crowd because a friend of mine in Sweden told me that he was there a couple of years ago and that it was very scary. Well, that’s what happens when things get to mainstream. Oh, and did I mention that the queue like 1 over long?

After lunch we went to, can you guess? London eye. I was pretty nice. Of course the view was amazing. I did take a bit too long to get to the top though.

Then it was time for Starbucks for a coffee. I don’t know why they don’t have Starbucks in Sweden (except for 1 at the Central station), I would do great in Sweden. Every Swedish adult drinks coffee and everybody goes to “fika”. Fika is a Swedish. It means going out for a coffee and something little to eat like a sandwich with someone.

We didn’t do much after Starbucks, we spent some more time on the sightseeing bus, had something to eat at the hotel. I have packed all my bags and I am leaving early in the morning. This time in London has been great and I hope that I will be as fun in the big apple.

Cya soon!
